Portugal among the top ten countries in the world to spend your retirement in 2015

Portugal is considered among the top ten countries in the world to spend your retirement in 2015 (from the US publishing group - International Living).
International living (a monthly magazine focusing on the best options for retirement) rank Portugal as number 9 in the world for the best countries to retire to (6 place up from 2014).

The 2015 ranking places Ecuador in the number 1 spot and includes two other European countries: Spain and Malta, in 6th and 7th, respectively.
Panama, Mexico, Malaysia and Costa Rica follow-Ecuador, and Colombia and Thailand round out the top ten countries for pensioners.

The classification, which comes from a selection of 25 countries, is based on several factors, such as real estate, the cost of living, friendliness, the quality of health services, infrastructure and climate.

An article about Portugal published in the International Living page points out some of the reasons for their ranking: "Recently I spent some time in Portugal and was overwhelmed by the low prices. In Portugal, you can enjoy a cost of living as low as the more developed Latin American countries, but with all the benefits of European life "

In addition, we highlight the mild climate, the quality of infrastructure and the proximity to Spain. "English is spoken widely, especially in the larger cities, which, combined with the hospitality of the Portuguese, integrations easy and you quickly have the feeling of being at home", the magazine summaries.
