Vilamoura Atlantic Tour 2018

Event generates economic impact in the region of more than 21 million euros

The 16th edition of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour, an event that will be taking place in Vilamoura Equestrian Centre between February the 13th until April the 1st 2018, being the biggest European equestrian event which welcomes more international competitions in Europe.

It should be noted that the 2018 edition of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour takes a decisive step in its affirmation as one of the most important equestrian events in Europe, receiving a record number of participating horses, 1,200, of which 200 are Portuguese, which will compete in 24 qualifying races for the ranking of the International Equestrian Federation, being over six weeks, distributed 870,000 euros of prizes.

The circuit installed in the Vilamoura Equestrian Center is divided into two parts, the first of which runs from February 13 to March 12, so after a week's break, the competition returns to March 20 to finish on April 1 , so that in addition to the traditional rounds, the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour also receives new horse races, with the finals to be played in the fourth week of competition.

It highlights the economic impact of the event in the region, which is estimated at 21 million euros, with several thousand visitors that will have a direct impact on overnight stays in Algarve accommodation, which is more than 100,000 over the six weeks of competition. The restaurants and the rest of the region will also feel an increase of movement.
